"Please Stop Taking My Picture, Mom!"

Rats, it's so hard to keep practicing when my son HATES to be photographed. We've had a couple of perfect, cloudy days on the beach - perfect for that nice, even light. Well, all I can do is try. I used a texture by Amanda Rockwell here...just played with the soft light and multiply modes, and then enhanced the saturation a bit. Erased, or masked, the texture from his face and arms, although it was perfectly subtle to start with.

New York Corn Makes it's Way to Florida

This does have a story behind it. Every August and September, my husband stops at the farm stand near the airport in Upstate NY and buys corn before he heads back home here to Florida (his office is in NY and he commutes every other week). We look forward to it every year....but we were bummed out by this first batch - it wasn't very sweet! I don't know if it has to do with the *mostly* crappy summer the Northeast had. We'll give it a try on his next commute.

This is where we stayed. All of our rooms had beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean.
The restaurant was very good also - specializing in a lot of Greek breakfast and lunch dishes.

In spite of the time difference from east coast to west coast, I dragged myself out of bed the next morning to go for a walk. This overlook was just up the way a bit from where we were staying. Wow, I loved how the fog gathered in the background, but left the bridge in perfect capture!

We haven't been there, but our jet flew right over the Grand Canyon.

I did not have a pic for today since we were just back from vacation!!!! Gah!!! Sorry, but jet lag does take over, whew. I could have taken pics of laundry piles, but?????? Why?

You have read pretty much all that is out there for your age..............let's just say it's going to be a challenging year to find new books that are okay for your 10 year old persona, but challenging enough for your incredible reading ability!!

Okay, this was bad. It was your last day of tennis clinic before our vacation. You fell right to the clay court as heat exhaustion apparently got the best of you. And you fell not once, but twice. Yikes, sweetie! I got the call from the country club to come get you.......I treated myself to a pedicure, but couldn't get out of there fast enough! I was SO worried about you.

Grandma & Grandpa

I dragged them out for a photo shoot with their grandson this morning.......hot and humid as can be, so I kept it to 30 minutes. They were wilting and probably couldn't wait to get back to New Hampshire, LOL.
